I have started the calendar for 2006. Expect lots more events to be added. If anyone has any events that they want adding, please let me know. NOTE the club house is not available on 2nd January so the first meeting of the year will be on the 9th. Also the Long Mynd minibus is not available on the 3rd so we'll probably go anyway (in our cars) and then go again on the 10th (when the bus is available). For more information, see the calendar.
I have finally got around to updating the SLG results on the website. Neil Stainton is winning with Keith Barrington and Mark Smith in second and third.
A number of extra events have been added to the Calendar as per the recent newsletter. Highlights include the AGM and the Annual Social.
Mark's August slope soaring report has been added to the recent
flying page. There are lots pictures of Graham's huge scale glider flying too so check them out if you haven't already
Gentlemen,
The owner of our helicopter field has received a second complaint regarding our use of this field. This complaint was in writing and to the council. the complaint referred to our not having planning permission and therefore being restricted to 28days per year, to the noise nuisance caused and to the obstruction caused by the car parking on the lane.
With the number of helicopter flyers we now have losing this facility would result in inconvenience to all as the heli's would inevitably return to the fixed wing field. In order to try to hold back the loss of this facility, except for 28 days a year, the following has been decided.
Use of the heli field to be restricted to low level flight, 20 ft or lessand hovering. Competent flyers who can fly circuits at normal height(20 to 50 feet)to return to the fixed wing field particularly those flying aerobatics. Strictly no hovering in the fixed wing field. Heli-flyers must be aware of the characteristics of fixed wing flight particularly the directions of take off and landing.
This is designed to reduce the visibility of use of the heli-field. Helis to fixed-wing frequencies when flying in the 'fixed wing field). If in doubt speak to Chris Bates or Glen for clarification.
Car Parking to be restricted at the heli-field to be restricted to a maximum of three cars to be park on the verge on the opposite side of the road only. If there are three cars present please drop off your equipment and park in the fixed wing field.
We understand this may be inconvenient, but it is the kind of thing the council planning people will consider important.
Heli- Flyers are also reminded that the club rule about flying on Sundays to be restricted to not before 1030am not after 6pm applies.
Fixed wing flyers are asked to co-operate with the heli flyers,it is in our mutual interest to keep the heli field going.
Notices will be displayed on both fields shortly.
Finally Grahame Clarke is going to speak to the farmer again and inform him of these actions so I wish youall safe and happy flying.
Regards
Paul Scott
(Hon.Sec.)

I have now removed the old address for the site at http://leezpc.homelinux.org/cadmac. This address now just contains a redirect to http://www.cadmac.org which has been the main site address for a couple of years now. I have noticed that the really really old address of http://www.cadmac.freeserve.co.uk/ has gone dead as well. I have also changed the club email address as the old freeserve one has gone dead now. If you spot anything that has broken because of these changes, please let me know.
I have added a link to Neil Stainton's Site to the Links page and also to the Whats On page after his excellent presentation on electric power trains on Monday. The pages that he presented are on his site and worth a look if you are into electric flying.
Oops, It looks like Mike's videos were from the February indoor flying so I have moved them. I have added one more that he sent me to the March page though.
Some pictures and video (with sound!) of the indoor flying on the 20th from Mark and Mike have been added to the album. The videos average at 1 meg each in this folder and there are higher resolution ones in the 'Higher Res Videos' folder at about 3 meg each. Look at the video files with 'Profile' or 'Biplane' in their name for some good indoor aerobatics.
Added another report from Mark to the recent slope soaring reports. There is a link to the day's pictures here as well
Self Launch Glider Competition Dates are now on the What's on list.
There is now a Self Launch Glider
Page. This contains last year's results and the rules.
I have added a new weather

I have finally got my finger out and put the results on the page. They are here
Ever wonder how Mike Sayer manages to get so much power out of his electric models? Well wonder no more. He reveals all on his new power pages here
I got a request to put an advert on the CADMAC site. Its all modeling stuff so I didn't see it being a problem and I created a new site section for it here. If anyone has any other modelling related items for sale, send them to the usual address and I will put them on the site.
The "What's On" for February-May has been added here. Thanks to Stan for another
quarter's events.
Mark's longest ever slope soaring report has been added to the
Recent Slope Soaring page (and he only used the word cold
twice). You can read it here.
Graham Stanley has sent me a splendid write up of his tiny Dakota so I have created a section of the web site for this sort of thing. You can see it here. If anyone else has something on a similar vein, please let me know so I can add to this section.
I have also added Mark's and my pictures from our slope soaring trip last Tuesday here. Only Mark and me went on this one as everyone else said it was too cold and wussed out :-). A good time was had by both, but they were right about the cold thing.
Some pictures and video from Mark have been added to the album
The results have been updated for the December indoor flying session. There wasn't the usual pylon racing but there was a limbo instead. The rules for the limbo are here and the results are here.
Mark has written a report on the December slope soaring outing to Long Mynd. You may find it here
Graham has created a club newsletter for December. It looks like this
may become a regular feature so I have created a new area on the site for it
under News->Newsletters.
You can see December's Newsletter here
I have added a few more links to the Links Page. I have also added links to the What's On and Links Pages for the people that have presented at the club meetings. I will try to get these out before the meetings in future to help people decide if they want to go.
A few pictures from the November slope soaring outing (courtesy of Mark) have been added here
I have renamed all of the movie clips in the album to give them a more descriptive title as there is no preview for them.
I have added a Webmonkey's Picks section to the album. This contains the images and movies that I consider to be the best in the album. I recommend you look at these picures first before delving into the rest of the album
Pictures from yesterday's indoor flying have been added to the album here. These include pictures of last season's winners of the Pico Stik pylon racing and Butterfly receiving their trophies from Graham. Also there is a picture of Chris Bates receiving a trophy for winning the first Pico Stik pylon race of this season.
A page for this season's Pico Stik Pylon race results has been created here and this has the first race's results on it
The Picture and Video archive is live. You can get to it by selecting About The Club->Club Album from the menu bar or by clicking on this link.
The site is now maintained by Lee (as Graham does not have the time to update it any more). I have had an initial trawl through the site and tidied up all of the broken links and out of date information but left the content largely unchanged. I am planning on putting lots of other features onto the site as time goes on. I have a few ideas about what to do with the site but I am open to suggestions so tell me what you think. The ideas I have so far are:
If you like any of these ideas or think that they are a waste of time let me know. Also let me know if you have any comments on the new site: did you like the old one better?, Is the new one slow?, Was Graham's punctuation better :o)?, etc.
