The calandar for 2008 has been started off with a Bring&Buy, a Concours competition and the usual slope outings
The 2008 subscription prices are now on the subscription page
After being let down too many times by Ryton Sports Connexion, the rest of the indoor flying sessions have been cancelled and removed from the calendar.
More events have been added to the calendar
The indoor flying on 7th July has been cancelled and removed from the calendar.
A load of extra events have been added to the calendar. Of particular note is the EGM to finalise the purchase of Wolston field on 2nd July.
The indoor flying on 12th May has been cancelled. Graham's note says:
The Connexion have broken the terms of our agreement and let us know rather late. They should provide at least a months warning should we be "bounced" so we have time to let folk know.
The sports Connexion have just advised me the 12th May event could only be held in the cricket halls. Based on experience last time I have asked them to provide an additional date for the autumn/winter. It the weather is OK we might as well go to Wolston!
Apologies for the short notice.
This year's indoor dates are now on the calendar. The indoor prices have gone up. See the indoor info page for more details.
The first few events for 2007 are now on the calendar. Many more to come though.
The scores from this year's self launch glider competition (so far) have been added to the Self Launch Glider page. I have also added the rest of this year's Self Launch Glider competitions onto the calendar.
I have added all of the new events to the calendar from the latest newsletter.

Dear SMSA member,
Following the discussions at the AGM, last week two members of the committee met up with the Estate Manager from Upton house to discuss our flying activities on Sunrising Hill.
As a result of this meeting, we have hopefully taken a step forward to establishing a good relationship with the SMSA and Upton House at the same time helping to protect our flying at Sunrising hill.
This is only the first step and there are still some things that need more discussion. However, in the meantime the estate manager has asked us to observe the following points when we are using Surising Hill:
Parking - Please can you always park on the gate/slope side of the road.
Conservation areas - Please KEEP OUT of these areas at ALL times. This includes landing and parking models.
Landing - When ever possible please land on the slope (i.e. light conditions and foamies) If you have to land in the field please try to land near the footpath and use the tramlines to retrieve models.
Litter - Always take your litter home with you and keep the slope tidy.
We will keep members informed of any future discussions and any final agreements will be approved at a members meeting sometime in the near future.
Until then we would again like to thank all the members for their efforts with making Burton Dassett and Edge Hill a safe place to fly and be around other flying and also their polite attitude with members of the public and those managing the site. Keep it up!!
Thanks
